Colerain Civic Association sought to rezone a 1.034-acre portion of its property containing an approximately 2,500-square-foot former firehouse. The building was used for civic meetings and community functions and was to be sold to LaSalle Council, Knights of Columbus, which proposed to continue those activities, conduct bingo games, and seek a liquor license.
The Regional Planning Commission and Rural Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval, and the Township hearing produced no opposition. The Board approved the rezoning with conditions requiring development generally in accordance with the preliminary plan, paved and drained drive and parking areas, at least 40 nonparallel spaces, shielded lighting, and final-plan review of signage and landscaping. Later correspondence addresses compliance review and signage; the file also preserves the application, hearing record, notices, and plans.
